SAVE - SAmen Voor de Energietransitie

SAVE - SAmen Voor de Energietransitie

The expansion of renewable energies is a fundamental pillar of the energy transition. The contribution of renewable energies to global energy supply is growing. However, if the equally increasing energy demand is to be met sustainably and the goals agreed in the Paris Climate Agreement are to be achieved, the pace of the global expansion of the use of renewable energies must be significantly increased. In addition to political, legal and economic factors, acceptance among the population in particular also influences sustainability efforts. These are directly dependent on the cooperation and commitment of the population. Up to now, a certain lack of interest or knowledge has been apparent in this regard. This is where the SAVE project would like to start and address the “(inter)human” challenges and contribute to the (better) functioning of the energy transition as an overall system between the population, the economy and local authorities/politics. Through awareness-raising, participation and training, citizens, businesses (especially SMEs) and relevant stakeholders are to be linked transnational and involved in the energy transition through concrete activities.
SAVE aims to address this deficit by identifying the perspectives of “sustainable living space concepts for the future” and developing tools to stimulate citizens, companies and other stakeholders to better embrace innovation. As a result, the project also wants to contribute to increasing value creation, developing sustainable business models and increasing the willingness to invest in renewable energies.
