I-AT - Interregional Automated Transport

Self-propelled electric vehicles as public transport of the future ?
In this project, a German-Dutch consortium is investigating the future possibilities of autonomous electric vehicles. To this end, tests are being carried out with the “WEPods”, the autonomously running shuttle vehicles in the Foodvalley between Ede and Wageningen. New routes are also being tested, e.g. at Weeze airport (between P2 and the arrival/departure hall), in a cross-border transport corridor (e.g. Aachen-Vaals or Enschede-Gronau) or in parcel delivery.

The project aims at enabling the (further) development of technical innovations and solutions in the fields of automation processes, ICT, artificial intelligence and measurement and sensor technology for the automotive and logistics sector in the region.

Open consortium
The technology (WEPods) is made available for further development. In order to make this possible, compliance with the various legal regulations and an open development process are important boundary conditions. In addition to the fixed project partner structure, the consortium also offers space for other SMEs to become involved in this euregional network and to benefit from it.
