Economy, technology and innovation (priority 1)
The regions alongside the Dutch-German border are closely interdependent. With the support of the INTERREG IV A programme it is envisaged to connect the economic and scientific potentials on both sides of the border even better with each other, so that the competitive position of the regional economy will be enlarged.

Sustained regional development (priority 2)
Jointly coordinated information and traffic flows, a synchronized plan for spatial planning and the protection of the environment are fundamental conditions for the further economic development of the regions. Therefore, means of the INTERREG IV A programme are reserved for the improvement in these fields.

Integration and society (priority 3)
Contacts between civilians, schools and public institutions stand at the basis of cross border cooperation. Therefore, joint cultural and social projects are sponsored in the entire border area. The INTERREG IV A programme supports also improvements in the field of internal security and the cross border labour market.

Technical implementation (priority 4)
A profound guidance and advisement of project partners and accurate legal management are fundamental for the success of the INTERREG IV A programme. For this purpose certain projects in the field of technical assistance are being launched, which will be functioning throughout the programme.
