Finances

The European Union funds the INTERREG IV A Programme “German - Netherlands 2007-2013“ with 138.7 million Euro out of the European Fund for Regional Development. National ministries, provinces and other public bodies at regional and local levels provide additional funding. A total of 290 million Euro can therefore be invested in cross-border projects.
Due to the focussing on the “Lisbon Objectives”, 58 per cent of the funds are reserved for the first focus ’economy, technology and innovation’. Eighteen per cent has been allocated respectively to the priorities ‘sustained regional development’, which basically allows for the Göteborg objectives, and ‘integration and society’. The remaining six per cent will be used for the technical implementation of the programme.
